What is a Pro-rated filing and things to know while e-filing.

Have you bought a new truck and puzzled what to do next? Well, you need to get your Form 2290’s first to get your license plates done. The next question that would come up in our mind is when to report it. As per the IRS you get 60 days to report your new vehicle.

Any new vehicle bought can be reported until the last day of the following month from the date of its first use i.e. if you would have bought the vehicle in the month of September and plan to put it on the road then you have time until October the 31stto report the vehicle and pay the taxes.

And the next important question which normally arises in our mind is “Should we pay the taxes for the whole year?” Well not necessarily. You will be reporting the vehicle from the first used month till June 30th of the following year, you will be reporting the vehicle on pro-rated basis and pay the taxes for the remaining months only but not for the whole year.

The common doubt which would arise is whether the vehicle would be taxable or not. Well if you intend to drive over 5,000 miles (7,500 for agricultural vehicle) until June 30th and if your vehicle’s total gross weight including the maximum load it can haul is more than 55,000 lbs you vehicle would be categorized under taxable vehicle else just report the vehicle under suspended (exempt from tax) category.

Truckdues has been rated to be one of the most reliable websites by most owner operators for its user friendliness and reliability. You wouldn’t face any hassle while e-filing your HVUT Form 2290 even though it happens to be your first time. Receive the IRS digital watermarked copy of schedule 1 within minutes after you e-file.

It’s the last week to File your Pro-rated HVUT Form 2290 for vehicles first used since Aug 2019.

Truckers, we’re back with yet another article to remind you about the near term HVUT deadline that waits by the end of this month Sept. 30 for vehicles that are used on the road since Aug 2019. The HVUT Form 2290 is generally due by June and its payable until the end of August. However, this law is only applicable for general annual renewals.

Else, Form 2290 must be filed by the last day of the month following its month of its first use. On that basis Sep 30, would be the deadline to E-File Form 2290 for the vehicles which has been operated over public highway since Aug 2019.

Failure to File and pay your HVUT would cost your hard earned money. Hence, never consider procrastinating on your HVUT deadline when you got E-filing, the most safe and fastest way of e-reporting your HVUT filing as an option and www.truckdues.com being your E-File service provider.

We have earned our trust among truckers and trucking communities for our economic pricing structure and foremost due to our website’s user friendliness, where e-filing Form 2290 can be done at a swing of a bat with sparing no huge amounts.

Hence, Act fast and e-file your Pro-rated HVUT Form 2290 before 09/30/2019 and save maximum penalties from the Internal Revenue Service. God Bless America! God Bless our Truckers!

The Pro-rated HVUT Form 2290 is now due by 09/30. E-File soon!

Hello there truckers, this article is to remind you all that your Pro-rated HVUT Form 2290 is due by September 30, 2019 for the period beginning August 2019 through June 2020. As you are pretty aware of the fact Form 2290 is generally due by June and its payable until the end of August. Else, federal law states that Form 2290 must be filed on a vehicle by the last day of the month following the month of its first use.

Hence, Form 2290 is now due tomorrow ONLY for the vehicles which were purchased/re-purchased and been used over the road since August 2019 and yet this is the shortest month of the year, evidently it’s hard for us to recollect the pace with which the days during this month literally ran off by far and we face just one more day to E-File and pay the pro-rated HVUT form 2290.

Most HVUT tax payers refuse to report their trucks over a Form 2290 since they primarily use their trucks for agricultural/farm based purposes and they rightly presume that their vehicles are basically exempt from HVUT hence needs not to be reported on a Form 2290. In contrary, the IRS doesn’t think the same way. Any vehicle that possess a minimum combined gross weight of 55000 lbs and if it’s been used between destinations using a public highway is required to be reported on a Form 2290.

Having said that however, tax payments are not collected on farm based units however they need to be reported over a Form 2290 to legally claim its exemption from HVUT and the same is necessarily required during vehicle registration with the state department of Motor Vehicle and its applicable during tags, plates, licenses purchases etc.
