Time is ticking! as the Form 2290 deadline Aug.31 fast approaches

Form 2290 for the tax year 2020 is due by Aug.31

Hello there dear truckers! Hope you’re all safe and sound. We are into the last phase of filing your taxes as we just have a week’s time before the deadline for your form 2290. As you know the form 2290’s are due by July and payable until august 31 every year. While most of you have filed your tax returns yet there are many who hasn’t filed yet. We would like to keep you posted about this as we are nearing the deadline and any filings done after august are subjected to penalties from the IRS.

Most of you have a common question asking that why should you renew now as your tag renewals are later this year and aren’t we supposed to do it only then? Well, that’s not how it works. Form 2290’s are always from July 1 to June 30 the following year and the taxes are to be paid upfront for the whole tax year. And how will the taxes be calculated? It depends on miles that you do in a tax year and the total gross weight of your vehicle {tractor + trailer + the max capacity that you can haul}. For a vehicle to qualify under a taxable category it should do more than 5000 miles in a tax year and the minimum gross weight should be 55000 lbs and above.

The new tax season 2020 – 2021 has begun! E-file your form 2290’s now

Hello there dear truckers, the TruckDues team wishes you’ll a HAPPY 4th! The pre-filing season is over and the actual filing season has started as the IRS has started to accept and process the tax returns for the tax year July 2020 – June 2021. For all those who had pre-filed their tax returns with us has already received the schedule-1 copy and are resuming work without interruption.

Although the Form 2290 is actually payable until Aug 31, 2020, you are required to stay updated and current on your Form 2290 filings during your vehicle registration. Form 2290 is generally due by June and its payable until the end of August.  However, you are required to possess the current years filed Form 2290 during any roadside inspections to avoid a ticket.

You might now think why do I have to file it right away when I got time until August?

Its better to stay ahead than to be last, pre-file your Form 2290’s now!

Hello there truckers, Hope you’re safe as the race towards recovery is on a full scale. Hope this pandemic comes to an end soon. As the entire world’s economy crippling down its time to do our duty in paying the taxes as this would help the government in bringing up the economy. Trucking has always been one of the most revenue-generating sector in our country employing more than 3.5 million truckers. it’s been about a couple of weeks now since the E-File race has started. Will we have a pre-filing season for TY2020-21?

Hello there dear truckers! Hope you’re all safe. Its been a wild year so far as the whole world is fighting together against the Pandemic Covid-19. It’s spreading like a wildfire, uncontrolled and taking away many precious lives and counting. Our deepest regrets to all those departed souls and may they Rest in Peace. And It’s almost time as we are in the final quarter of the Form2290 tax year 2019-2020 still puzzled about the next tax year. We’ve been receiving numerous calls from our customers regarding the Pre-filing season through us. For first-timers Pre-filing season is an Ideology where we allow our customers to file the taxes a month prior to the renewal date, usually by June 1 every year we allow customers to pre-file the taxes and once the IRS starts accepting form for the next tax year by July.
