Hello there truckers, Now it’s time to Hide out your Form 2290 filed for the period beginning July 1st,2017 through June 30th, 2018 during roadside inspections conducted by the Department of Motor Vehicle. Since, the Form you filed has already expired dated June 30th, 2018. Hence you are required to E-Renew your Form 2290 for the Period beginning July 1st, 2018 through June 30th, 2019.

Form 2290 is due annually by June and it is payable until the end of August. So the Form 2290 you filed for the period 2017-2018 is NO LONGER good to be used as a proof of HVUT payment to renew your registration, plates, tags, licensing etc. with the state.

Also at the same time, Federal law states that Form 2290 must be filed for a vehicle by the last day of the month following the month of its first use. However, this law is only applicable for Pro-rated tax filings (Filed for Partial Period of the Year).  For example, if you purchase a new vehicle anytime during a respective tax year, A Form 2290 must be filed by the end of the month following the month the truck was purchased.

E-Filing is very fast & secured in contrast to the conventional way of Paper Mailing documents and anticipating a response until a month’s time. Instead, sit back, relax & E-File your HVUT Form 2290 report & receive an instant confirmation back in your e-mail from the Internal Revenue Service.
