Just a week left until your Pro-rated HVUT Filing Deadline!

Hello there Truckers, the Federal law states that the Form 2290 must be filed by the last day of the month following the month of its first use. On that basis, the Form 2290 is now due ONLY for vehicles that were purchased/Re-purchased or used since August 2018.

The Form 2290 is generally an annual tax paid to the Internal Revenue Service every year on heavy vehicles which comprises a minimum gross weight of 55000 lbs and if the same truck is been used over the Public highway mainly for commercial, agricultural & logging purposes

The tax due is determined by the number of miles that the truck is been used for at a respective tax period. Since these taxes are basically due by June the current tax year will be for the Period beginning July 1st, 2018 through June 30th, 2019. Now if the subjected vehicle is used over 5000 miles in case of commercial vehicles & 7500 miles in case of Agricultural vehicles the tax amount is always required to be paid full in advance to the IRS.

However, in contrary if the subjected vehicle is used under 5000 miles in case of commercial vehicles & 7500 miles in case of Agricultural vehicles, the truck remains exempt from paying taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.

E-Filing is simple and easy, the general turnaround time to receive the IRS digital watermarked copy of schedule 1 back in within minutes. This digital watermarked copy of schedule 1 will nicely serve as the legal proof of document you require during your vehicle registration process at the Department of Motor Vehicle.
