Image taken December 3, 2008. Breeding Bird Survey data indicate House Finches are most numerous in the Glaciated Plateau region, especially within the northeastern counties. Adults have a long brown tail and are a brown or dull-brown color across the back with some shading into deep grey on the wing feathers. The bill is short and slightly decurved.
